Happy Holidays!

I am in DC visiting my parents and my sister Autumn. We have had a really wonderful time so far. Today we are watching movies and relaxing.

On Sunday my dad took me to his work to visit and bottle feed some newborn cows.
The babies we fed were a set of twins born that morning. It was a really fun time and I was glad to spend that time with daddy.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

Favorite Photo Friday

This is my dad with a goat he saved about a year ago after it's mother had abandoned it.
He said that even after several months apart the little guy remembered him.

Fall Quarter

I am so relived that school is over for the quarter. It wrapped up really well and went smoothly. I am so anxious to see my grades but I have to wait about another week...

I am flying to Maryland on Monday for a little over 2 weeks. I can't wait. It will be so nice to see my parents and sister, and pets! I haven't seen the pets or my mom in 1 year! Crazy, that shouldn't be allowed.

183 more days until GRADUATION!!!

It is wet and cold outside today. I have zero plans besides hanging out and watching movies.

Recently I have been listening to audio books. Most recently are Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali- I came upon this book because I was researching for a school project that I worked on all quarter regarding female genital mutilation. I was in a Global Inequalities class and I chose FGM as my topic....  Anyway, I came across this book because Ali was excised when she was a young girl in Somalia. But the book isn't all about that, basically Ali wrote a memoir about her life which starts when she is about 5 years old in Somalia and progressing throughout the course of her life to about 2006, in her 30's in Holland.  She becomes a politician.
I chose to listen to it on audio book because I have a hard time focusing sometimes when I am reading. Also I enjoy being able to multitask, like washing dishes or organizing something. Washing dishes isn't hardly as bad if my mind is following a compelling story.
Ali reads the book as well which I really like.  this is my top book suggestion of the day.

Now I am listening to The Golden Compass because a friend of mine gave me the book about a year ago and I still have not read it.  And I am listening to Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen. So far this book has started slow but I like it. It is one of the NYtimes best sellers so I keep telling myself it must be good. Finally I am starting to feel really interested like I have to find out what happens next. I am about 4 disks in out of 10.

Well that's all for today! I am so trilled to be done with school!!!
