Back again... there is so much I want to say, but I am unsure of where to start.
I am anxiously awaiting for classes to be over this quarter. One more month to go but our motivation has been waning. Brian will be attending Summer school, while I have opted to enjoy the break in order to make some money and take my mind off of school. We also have been discussing a Mexican vacation for our 4 year anniversary. . . we will see what happens, we deserve a break from Seattle together.
Alas it is already May!!! Can you believe its real? It feels like just yesterday it was my birthday and it was mid Autumn. This must be a result of my blocking out the cold, wet and dark Winter season that seem to last for 6 months instead of 3. Recently Seattle has been cloudy but not necessarily cold. I wore a light sweater today to school and I was just fine. I hope the sun will shine in the coming weeks and my light pale skin will absorb all of the Vitamin D it can.
We have started eating at a new restaurant near school called Guanaco's Taco's. YUM Salvadorian food! Brian really enjoyed the burritos while I am partial to the bean and cheese filled Pupusa, on top of that they add this vinegar (like) pickled cabbage and hot sauce. I love it, and for 1.90 a piece I can get a nice warm lunch for under $5. Another inexpensive delight we have grown accustom to is Veggie Pho Noodle Soup!! Thinking about it all makes me hungry all over again.
I babysit about 10 hours a week for a good friend of mine. She has two kids but mainly I watch her youngest, a 3 year old named David Moses. He is simply adorable and lights up our lives.
Sometimes Brian comes to hang out and we play horses with play dough. Brian constantly makes 'monsters' out of the dough and David will kill them with one of his knights. (I cannot seem to figure out how to place the photo under this but it is above) And often it feels like a lot of work on our part to have our monsters only last but a second before he decapitates them but, that's what they're for right!? Overall it is so much fun, and I have never known a kid who loves horses more.
As many of you can see, I have BRACES! They aren't THAT bad, but I am at a point of wishing they were not a part of my life anymore. 15 months down, 3-9 more to go... I keep telling myself it will be 9 months in hopes of being pleasantly surprised by their removal any day before that. I am terribly about wearing my rubber bands but have been working on it, I do not even mind wearing them really- its more a matter of my forgetfulness. I will take them out to eat and then, BAM, its two days later and I think to myself "damn it, when did I last have them in?" Thankfully they will not be in my mouth forever and an end is in sight.
We adopted a dog about a year and a half ago. Her name is Lady and she is about 8 years old (we think?) She was abandoned and ended up with Brian's brother, Gus, in Bellingham Washington for a while. Ultimately his mom convinced us to adopt her and we are so happy to have her in our lives. She definitely brings much love and light to our little home. She gets more and more grey each day. We are very lucky she is a sweet dog and socializes well with other dogs and humans alike. (cats and squirrels are a different story... I am sure if we let her)
We also have two turtles. Brian has had Shelly (the larger of the two) for nearly 10 years. Originally SHE was believed to be a HE and carried the name Sherman for 7 of those years. It wasn't until about a year after Brian and my dating that Sherman laid eggs!!! So we slowly shifted her name to a more feminine tone. Shortly after getting Lady, we adopted Otis, (the small turtle) to keep Shelly company... and over all he is more a pest than anything for her, but he is cute and she never lays and the bottom of the tank and sulks anymore. Shelly totally loves people over Otis though.. and she makes it known to him. I think their love will grow over the years.
Well... I guess that is good for now. I know there is more but I cant concentrate.
I will post more pictures soon.
Love and good night.
